Hi
All,
Hope you are
enjoying your sailing. There have been a regular turnout of 7 or 8 boats
for the Wednesday series, but very poor turnouts at the weekends. Most who
have expressed a comment have enjoyed the separate starts on a Wednesday
evening. But there have been some grumblings from the fast handicap boats
who think we get better wind conditions - some people are never
happy!
Forthcoming
Events
Edinburgh
Regatta
This coming weekend
(23/24 August). Details at www.rfyc.org
There is a Friday night feeder race (doesn't count to series points) from Port
Edgar so you can train your crew on the way to the event! The format looks
to be a little different to previous years, there is a separate day/sport boat
class with 5 races over the 2 days.
I intend to go but
am currently short of crew, so if anybody want to team up or their crew want to
go please let me know. I'll try and pair up people and
boats.
One Design
Weekend
Again at Granton and
again details at www.fryc.org No
feeder race this time, 6 races at Granton over 2 days.

Hopefully we will
have a full turnout for our own regatta. A couple of the Southern boats
have indicated that they will be coming. If anybody is not doing the event
or will be short of crew and are prepared to lend the boat to or invite a
Southern based crew on board please let me know. It would be a shame to
have a 707 sitting idle in the marina for this event.
One Design
Trophy
As you know I have
been putting together a one design trophy (latest picture attached - the paper
stickers will be replaced with engraved plaques). About half of the races
have been run and I have put the current results up on my website, go to www.whippersnapper.org.uk and select
the PEYC One-Design Series button. Who is going to catch Code
Z?
If you have any
comment or ideas you want aired in this newsletter please let me
know.
Please pass this on
to you crew members and others who may be interested in what is happening in the
707 fleet.
